Gods and Godesses pleaded with Lord Brahma for another Veda to be created that would be simple for the common man to understand, which is particularly important in Kali Yuga. Granting their wish, Lord Brahma created the Panchamaveda, the Fifth Veda, or NatyaVeda, a quintessence of the main four Vedas. Brahma took pathya (words) form the Rigveda, abhinaya (communicative elements of the body movements, cf. mime) from the Yajurveda, geeth (music and chant) from Samaveda, and rasa (vital sentiment and emotional element) from Atharvaveda to form the fifth Veda, NatyaVeda. After creating this Veda, Lord Brahma handed it to sage Bharata and asked him to propagate it on earth. Obeying the fiat of Lord Brahma, sage Bharata wrote down Natyashastra.
Gondhal, an established religious practice of most of the castes in Maharashtra, is an educative, entertaining and important tradition. It is believed that if the Gondhal is performed in the house during auspicious occasions like weddings and thread ceremonies, then our life doesn’t become chaotic. Gondhal, literal meaning of which is `commotion`, is the dramatic narration of mythical stories, praise of heroes or narration of folk legends. All these forms part of a ritual dedicated to different divinities. This Marathi folk dance in the form of worship is performed exclusively by a group of men as part of rituals after ceremonies like marriage.

Her art is an eloquent tribute to the impact of her great Guru on her vision and sensibility. Endowed with a rare blend of intuition and intellect, she has evolved over the years an excellent command over the technique.

Kuchipudi, one of India’s seven main classical dance styles, combines fast rhythms with fluid movements, creating a nice blend of control and abandon, strength and delicacy.

Kuchipudi is a Classical Indian dance form Andhra Pradesh, India. It derives its name from the village of Kuchelapuram, a small village about 65 kms from Vijaywada. It is known for its graceful movements and its strong narrative / dramatic character.
